Dear Beloved in Christ!
Christ is in our midst!
As I wish you a blessed journey of Lent, I pray you and your beloved ones are doing well and in peace of our Lord Jesus Christ.
At our last General Assembly meeting, a motion was passed to initiate a Capital Campaign to raise funds for the maintenance and preservation of our buildings, i.e. the church and the parish center.
As you all know, those buildings were erected through the hard work, the dedication, the commitment, and the many sacrifices of our grandfathers, fathers, brothers, sisters, and relatives. Those heroes left us a legacy, and the least we ought to do is keep this legacy going for us and future generations. Our Orthodox faith was preserved through the stewardship of those our ancestors when they gave their time, talents, and treasures to build the church and the parish center. They used all the means they had to have a church, and later a parish center, to attend to their spiritual as well as social needs.
As in all man-made things, buildings wear and tear and need to be maintained constantly. Our Ground and Building committee did meticulous work and came up with a report listing all the necessary repairs our buildings need some of which are urgent. To mention some, bell towers, windows and pews of the church, parish center roof…
Our target for this campaign is $100,000 a big portion of it will cover all the needed repairs, and whatever is left will be kept in our Capital Fund Account for future and unexpected emergencies. Remember that your donation toward this campaign is completely independent and separate from your pledge and/or your contributions to other church events.
You will be approached by one of our committee members about this campaign in the near future. Your kindness and generosity are much appreciated.
The committee members are:
Walid Nakhoul (Chairperson), George Kilsey, Geoff Ayoub, Fadia Kabak, Yaacoub Mitri.
My God bless you and keep you under His Protection.
In Christ,
Fr. Elie Estephan, Salwa Khoury, Walid Nakhoul
