Rush Service – Holy Saturday, April 19, 2025
On the night before Pascha (Easter), the Orthodox Church celebrates the Rush Service—a deeply moving and joyous service that marks Christ’s victory over death and the beginning of His Resurrection. Beginning in total darkness, the faithful gather with candles in hand, symbolizing the light of Christ breaking through the tomb. As the Paschal light spreads throughout the church, we process together outside, chanting and proclaiming: “Christ is Risen!”
Service of the Lamentations – Holy Friday, April 18, 2025
Held on Holy Friday evening, the Service of the Lamentations is one of the most moving and solemn services of Holy Week. As we gather around Christ’s tomb, we chant hymns of sorrow and hope, mourning His death while anticipating His Resurrection. The faithful join in a candlelit procession, expressing both grief and deep faith in the promise of new life.
